Skilled Migration
There are a variety of General Skilled Migration visas available for skilled workers who have occupations that are required in Australia. There are categories for applicants who wish to apply independently and also for those who are sponsored either by an eligible relative or State or Territory, and those who wish to live and work in a regional area of Australia.
Generally, applicants for General Skilled Migration need to be able to meet the following criteria and meet a points based test before they can submit an E.O.I. (Expression of Interest.)
- Be under 45 years of age
- Have competent English language skills
- Have the skills and qualifications that meet the Australian (ANZCO) standard for an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
- Have their skills assessed by a recognised assessing organisation
The SOL is a list of skilled occupations of high value to the Australian labour market.
